WEDNESDAY 28TH AUGUST 2019
The Opening Night opens with the greatest of operas - W.A. Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, conducted by Maestro Jonathan Santagada and directed by Victoria Stevens. Enjoy dinner during the long interval and continue partying into the night with jazz and swing given by Sam Jewison’s band.
THURSDAY 29TH AUGUST 2019
Young virtuoso Giuseppe Guarrera performs Beethoven’s magnificent Piano Concerto no. 4 under the baton of Maestro Maximilian Fane. Schumann’s Symphony No. 2 follows a long interval of dining and jazz in the gardens. Music continues with the traditional midnight concert at the church of Ognissanti given by Quartetto Werther performing Schumann’s Piano Quartet in E flat major.
FRIDAY 30TH AUGUST 2019
Presenting an extraordinary premiere - The Spirit of Harlem: From Blues to Bebop. This programme features unique interpretations from a host of today’s top young jazz artists, paying homage to the most iconic moments of Harlem’s musical past and paving the way for new generations, and interpretations, to come. Don’t miss the Nugolo Restaurant banquet after the show and the all-night jam session: Swingin` the Songbook - A Tribute to Norman Granz!
SATURDAY 31ST AUGUST 2019
The unmissable Festival Finale celebrations – enjoy the very best of everything in one unforgettable night of opera, feasting and partying. Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro is followed by swing dancing in the gardens and a late-night DJ set given by Navarra.
