OPENING NIGHT – LA CENERENTOLA
Join us on the opening night for Rossini’s jubilant adaptation of Charles Perrault’s Cinderella fairy tale - indisputably one of his most beautiful and comic of operas. What better place for Prince Charming and true love to find our Cenerentola than on a summer’s evening at the Palazzo Pitti and Boboli Gardens in Florence.
Maestro Daniele Rustioni and the Italian Youth Orchestra play Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven in the Boboli Gardens. Mozart’s overture from The Marriage of Figaro is followed by Haydn’s Cello Concerto no.1 In C major performed by the outstanding young Italian cellist Erica Piccotti before the Italian Youth Orchestra bring a triumphant end to the evening with Beethoven’s Symphony no. 7. The late-night concert Natural Machines is given by the pioneering pianist Dan Tepfer who explores the beautiful intersection in music between natural and mechanical processes.
JAZZ NIGHT - THE THREE DIVAS
The ReGeneration Festival presents The Three Divas, a celebration of music as a potent force in an age of uncertainty. One hundred years ago, the Jazz Age took the world by storm. Amidst economic collapse and a global pandemic, jazz became a source of inspiration for many forms of music. In addition, from its early beginnings, jazz musicians embraced diversity and progressive ideals. The Three Divas - Anush Hovhannisyan, Shenel Johns and Veronica Swift - each form different backgrounds, collaborate across a spectrum of classical and jazz music. From operatic arias, Broadway hits to jazz standards, we celebrate a shared cultural heritage in a concert true to our time. The show also features the brilliant talents of Sam Jewison, Yasushi Nakamura, Dominick Farinacci and Dan Tepfer, in an event co-produced with Piers Playfair, founder of the Catskill Jazz Factory.
FESTIVAL FINALE - LA CENERENTOLA
Join us for the final night for Rossini’s jubilant adaptation of Charles Perrault’s Cinderella fairy tale - indisputably one of his most beautiful and comic of operas. What better place for Prince Charming and true love to find our Cenerentola than on a summer’s evening at the Palazzo Pitti and Boboli Gardens in Florence.
